It's now December, the completion of 2020, the year of clarity and 20/20 vision. And what a year it has been! The light is pouring onto the Planet, while the dark is scrambling, kind of like bugs in the dark when the flashlight beam hits them. And, my oh my, do they scramble! And it's not over yet! Here in the gardens, the harvest is in and we're spending nights by the fire shucking beans. And, like everything else in 2020, bringing those precious beans to fruition this year has been a challenge! The spring frosts almost froze them, the relentless summer heat nearly fried them, the blanket of heavy smoke in late summer nearly choked them and then the grand finale of an early frost almost took them down! We had to make the herculean effort in a relentless cold wind to cover their 8 to 10 ft. vines with sheets, tarps and frost cloth, And the ripening beans were saved! And now we're shucking our beautiful beans after this year of adversity-what a gift they are! On the same note, here we are at the end of 2020, feeling just like those beans. Each new challenge has forced us to change, to grow and to evolve. It is deep soul work on the Planet right now and that's never easy. The fight between dark and light has been fierce and we've each had to stretch and find-and then live-our own truth. Many have been pulled out of the lives they knew, their souls placing them where their souls wanted to be. It's been an intense passage.
During the month of December, as we wind our way towards the darkest night at Solstice (which happens to be a time when we will be flooded by new sources of light, all divinely orchestrated!), we can look back at the year and find the gifts of awakening that we've received through the challenges. We now experience the blessings of an expanded soul and the beginning of our Planet's awakening. It has been one tough year, no doubt about it, but we've made it through. And no matter how it looks on the surface, our souls are shining their bright light. Just like those beans!
