As we slide into the beautiful month of October, I wanted to talk about the Autumnal Equinox we just experienced on the 22nd of September. It was a powerful one! The Fall Equinox marks a time of balance on the Earth, symbolized by the Astrological Sign Libra, which is ushered in at that time. Here in the western United States, we moved into Libra at 6:04 PM on the 22nd, and boy could I feel the energies come swooping in at that time! The Autumnal Equinox is the moment of pause, in perfect balance, when the Earth is reborn into her New Year, her New Cycle, (this occurs at the Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere). Though we celebrate the New Year at the start of a calendar year on January 1st, Nature sees the Equinox as her true New Year.
What happens is that right before the Equinox, the entire orchestra (symbolizing the old cycle) is playing the grand finale, and then, at the moment of Equinox, it goes silent. Out of the silence, the first note appears, so softly we could almost miss it, and the New Cycle begins. The Devas, who are the architects of Nature, will begin to create the blueprints for this New Cycle. They create them through the long winter months, through Winter Solstice, and on into Spring. At the Spring Equinox, various Nature Beings, including Faeries, Elementals and Nature Spirits, will be called in, and they take the Devic blueprints and weave them into form. The New Cycle will now unfold through spring and summer and on into the Fall, (again, this is opposite in the Southern Hemisphere). Since we too are part of the Earth, it's important for us to call in our own cycle at the moment of Equinox. We're then aligned with the Earth, and our cycle can unfold with more ease, balance and support. We are indeed powerful creators, and when we consciously call in what we'd like to experience in our New Year, amazing things can happen!! My wish for all of you- and for our Mother Earth too- is that this New Cycle brings us all the Peace, Joy and Love we could possibly ask for! That's a BIG DREAM I know, but why not dream BIG this year?? We have nothing to lose and everything to gain so why not call it in? Happy Fall everybody! Lots of love to all of you in this New Year!

It has been an amazing summer, full of flowers and food in our garden, and we're incredibly grateful for all the blessings we've received. And now we're ready for the cooler days ahead! We've got oodles of tomatoes ripening on the vine and there are spicy peppers hanging like ornaments, ready to be picked. And then there's the garden basil, so sweet and abundant this year, it's been keeping the pesto flowing! A glorious time in the garden indeed!
So somehow we all made it through the Lions Gate this year- some of us barely, right? -and now we're all taking a deep breath as we say goodbye to August! The fiery Leo Sun is sliding into the sweetness of Virgo and life is good. The Fall Equinox is on the 22nd this year and that's when all of Nature begins her New Year-her new cycle-and the Earth is happy as she begins her life anew. And since we are all a part of Nature, we can begin our new cycle too. So what would YOU like to experience in this new cycle-this new year? Call in your cycle and make it grand; your dreams might just come true in this New Year of 2023! Meanwhile, everybody, enjoy the slower pace of autumn as the fall colors dance across the landscape and the gardens give their final bounty. It's a wonderful time to be alive! And, as always, see you in the garden.... |
