Today is a day to celebrate! While the folks in Mexico are celebrating an unlikely battle victory won in 1862, we're also celebrating, as this is the day fifteen years ago that Steve asked me to marry him! It's been an incredible adventure ever since. The gardens we've created in those fifteen years have blossomed into a rainbow of color and beauty. We are so blessed. Spring is in it's full glory right now and the gardens are amazing! Brightly colored roses and salvias are at their peak of color and fragrance. California poppies are creating splashes of bright orange everywhere and the columbines are blooming in every color under the rainbow! The garden is full of red and white jupiters beards, lavender scabiosa, fragrant pink penstemons, purple campanulas, neon colored cactus flowers, fragrant iris, red rosa poppies and so much more. Besides all the beauty we're happy to report the fruit trees have set fruit this year and all the little figs, peaches cherries, apricots, almonds, nectarines and plums are getting bigger everyday. We know what it's like to lose fruit to a spring frost so we're always grateful when they make it through. We've been slowly planting our vegetable gardens through the season and the last plants and seeds will go into the ground next week. After that we sit back and watch them grow! Planting, growing and harvesting...the new year has begun. Today as Steve and I celebrate Cinco Di Mayo we're so grateful for the many blessings in our lives. One year to celebrate we planted a rose, "Cinco Di Mayo" and today she opened her first blossom of the season, right on time! It's another season of love in the garden...
