We are in the midst of the most exquisite Fall Days here in the Eastern Sierra! The bright, sunny days and clear blue skies are such a welcome change after all the smoke we endured in late summer. And now our world is Golden again! Here in the Fall garden, the flowers are smiling in cool days and crisp autumn nights. The final season's bulbs-Toad Lilies, Narcissus, and Fall Crocus- are up and blooming big! We look forward to them every year and this year they're amazing. Our Runner Beans are still busy making beans and the fall lettuce is crisp and sweet. And we still have plenty of garden tomatoes left and even some basil too, so I'm busy in the kitchen making fresh pasta sauce and pesto! I will miss that most of all when the garden season is over.
As Steve and I move into our Thanksgiving holiday, we are both so grateful for the abundance we've received this year. It's been a challenging season in the garden to be sure, yet it was still so fruitful. I think that's how life is for everyone right now. We have to look for those gifts in the midst of our challenges. May you all receive gifts in the midst of your own challenges and may they be more fruitful than you could have ever imagined! See you in the garden...
